New words added to oxforddictionaries.com
The Oxford Dictionary online added some new words this week. I’ve seen one Facebook friend talk about having a babymoon, I had no idea it was an actual thing that people are doing. That, and words like: grats (congratulations), squee (a noise expressing excitement) and srsly (the abbreviation of seriously) are all now official words.
Oh, and twerk’s gone in there too – grats Miley!
Four fears that stop you from writing
Andrea Phillips has written a great post over on terribleminds.com detailing four of the fears that stop people writing. This is why NaNoWriMo can be so useful. You just put your head down and write as much as you can, as fast as you can.
Crafting a great read
Ann Warner’s guest post over on rebeccaberto.com provides some great tips on impactful writing. I especially like the advice to eliminate excess prepositions.

What will they think of our culture in 100 years time?? Omnishambles…ok, this I like 🙂
